Spouses and children under 21 years of temporary workers with H-1 Status are allowed to stay in US with H-4 visas. Individuals with H-4 visas can study Full time or part time without changing to F-1 status. H-4 status holders, however, cannot accept employment in US unless they obtain H-1B Visa of their own. Each embassy and consulate sets its own interview policies and procedures regarding student visas. Students should consult Embassy web sites or call for specific application instructions. You should get an interview schedule with the US consultate where you live.

	Compled visa application, DS-156
	Visa issuance fee

Other necessary documents (if applicable)

	Birth certificates
	Original marriage certificates
	Employment verification letter of the person you are dependent on
	Form DS-157 , If you are a male between 16 and 45 years old. If you are in New Delhi you have to submit Form DS-157 regardless of your age and sex.

Upon the conclusion of the interview you will be either denied or issued a visa, which will stamped in your passport.
